GHS PRESENTS "OPERATION SAFE
CHILD" JUNE 6th
Binghamton, NY- GHS Federal Credit
Union will be hosting "Operation Safe Child" on Saturday, June
6th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The "Child Safety
Seat" program will also be offered at this event, which will take
place at the Main Office located at 910 Upper Front Street, in
Binghamton. The Broome County Sheriff's Department strives to
assist parents in ensure the safety of their children through the
"Operation Safe Child" program. The program offers a variety
of tools as a means to raise awareness about child safety and
improve the possibility of returning missing children to their
parents. Participating parents will receive Operation Safe
Child ID cards containing the child's name, biographical
information, and fingerprint image.
The Broome County Health Department's Traffic Safety
Division has coordinated efforts for the Broome County
Sheriff's Department and various other law enforcement offices to
conduct a child safety seat check. Officers will be
demonstrating the proper way to install a child safety seat and how
to correctly secure the child in the seat.
Officers from the Broome County Sheriff's Department will be
available for fingerprinting and ID cards from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30
a.m. Information on child safety will also be provided at the
event. For children to participate a written consent by a
parent or legal guardian is required. This event is FREE to
everyone.
