How to Read Your Account Statement
- Account statements are sent out to members monthly. They can be sent either via USPS mail or via email. It’s recommended to use eStatements, or statements sent via email.
- Monthly account statements are private documents. While they don’t contain your full account number, they do include all information about your account names, balances, transactions, and your home address.
- If you’re going to keep physical statements, be sure to keep them in a securely locked location, like a fire safe inside your home. If you’re going to discard a copy, be sure to shred it. If you’re signed up to receive eStatements, you’re able to download prior month’s statements if it’s no longer in your email inbox. If you’re going to save them in your email inbox, make sure it’s secure and change your password frequently.
