The ACHIEVE vision is to be the leading regional resource and premier provider of comprehensive services to individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
addiction Center of Broome County
For more than 40 years, ACBC has assisted individuals with substance use disorders and their families in Broome, Chenango and Tioga counties. They provide medical services, family navigation, assessment, outpatient clinic, trauma specific interventions. With a comprehensive continuum of care, individualized treatment planning and caring staff, recovery is possible.
animal care council
The Animal Care Council is a nonprofit cat shelter and low cost clinic in Endicott that offers discounted spay and neuter services for cats and kittens, as well as vaccines to ensure your pet’s health. The cost for spaying is $80, while neutering is $50. They also provide rabies vaccines for $10, with other vaccines available at affordable prices.
BROOME COUNTY HUManE SOCIETY
The Humane Society is committed to preventing animal cruelty and finding loving homes for abandoned, abused, and homeless animals. The Humane Society’s services include sheltering animals, investigating cruelty reports, educating the public, and rescuing animals from dangerous situations. The Broome County Humane Society vision is to be the leading animal resource center in the Southern Tier, fostering a humane community through enrichment, education, and programs that help keep animals and families together.
BROOME COUNTY public library
Originally called the Binghamton Public Library, the Broome County Public Library opened in October 1904. Though it has gone through many iterations the Broome County Public Library has become a dynamic space with events for teens, meeting rooms, clubs, workshops, happy hours, readings, film nights, and many programs designed to serve everyone from the most disadvantaged to the most privileged members of the community.
Boy’s and Girl’s Club of binghamton
The Boys & Girls Club’s mission is to provides a place where the children can live, study, and play when they may be used to environments that may be unsupportive, neglectful, or even dangerous. Without access to the Boys & Girls Club the children may suffer in school, neglect their health, and fall prey to gang relationships, crime, drugs, and teen pregnancy.
The Boys & Girls Club provides programs for children ages 6-18 in five different areas which include: education and career programs, sports, fitness and recreation programs, health and life skills workshops, character and leadership programs, as well as arts programs. These services are provided at an affordable price which includes, dinner, homework-help and daily educational and recreational activities throughout the school year. Summer programs and school holidays are also available.
Bc safe coalition
BC SAFE maintains a mission of reducing the number of suicides and suicide attempts by increasing public awareness and providing educational and training resources. Through addressing and reducing stigma, via education and awareness activities, the Coalition hopes suicide will be openly discussed and addressed throughout the community. BC SAFE’s vision is that these efforts will be impactful on the reduction and elimination of suicide in Broome county.

The Broome County Council of Churches’ mission is connecting compassion with needs; inspiring growth with dignity. The main programs include: CHOWⓇ, Faith in Action Volunteers, the Hospital Ministry, the Jail Ministry, the Greater Good Grocery, BCCOAD, and Encounter. The Council of Churches programs serve individuals and families facing a variety of challenges, such as food insecurity, limited mobility, hospitalization, incarceration, and more.

The mission of the Broome County Office for Aging is to improve and enrich the quality of life for all older persons residing in Broome County. The Office for Aging promotes the dignity and independence of the older person, ensures comprehensive and coordinated services are readily available, encourages age friendly county wide planning, and fosters public awareness of the value and contribution of older persons to the community. The Broome County Office for Aging offers a variety of programs and resources including a Yesteryears group, caregiver services, elder abuse outreach program, foster grandparents, health and wellness opportunities, housing info, in-home services, legal services, meals on wheels, nutrition counseling, NY connects, OFA senior ID card, senior helpers program, and transportation opportunities
catholic charities of broome county
Catholic Charities provides a wide range of programs designed to support individuals and families in need. Their offerings include health home care management, counseling, peer-driven programs, and transportation services. They also provide residential services, mental health housing, developmental disabilities services, and specialized programs like Children’s Mental Health Rehabilitation Services and runaway/homeless youth residential services. Additional community resources include food pantries like Jessica’s Corner, assisted competitive employment (ACE), family support services, disaster services, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, and Ladies of Charity.
Crime Victims Assistance Center
CVAC maintains a mission to provide compassionate support, education, and advocacy to those affected by crime through offering services such as Legal Advocacy, Safe Harbour, Counseling, and 24-hour support. CVAC is a unique resource which offers a safe & welcoming environment for those who have been a victim of, or affected by crime. Our counselors and advocates provide free, trauma-informed supportive services with compassion to survivors.
Children’s Home of Wyoming Conference
The Children’s Home of Wyoming Conference partners with children, families and communities to inspire hope, develop skills and cultivate healthy relationships for positive futures. They envision a collaborative, caring community where children and families lead happy, healthy and fulfilling lives. The Children’s Home provides care for children and families by coordinating with schools and offering community programs in behavioral and emotional health, therapeutic intervention & clinical treatment, leadership & development, physical health & wellness, community outreach & civic engagement, and academic success & career readiness. The Southern Tier Community Center is a division of the Children’s Home and offers school age child care, a fitness center with classes, a gymnasium and a pool, space rental and teen nights.
danielle house
Danielle House, named in honor of Danielle Stento, is a charitable, non-profit organization and member of the Healthcare Hospitality Network. The Danielle House was created in response to the need for hospitality and emotional support for family members visiting seriously ill patients in Triple-Cities area hospitals. The Danielle House offers a temporary, safe and homelike atmosphere for patients' families and loved ones, and for outpatients seeking respite during a medical crisis, during treatment phases of medical care, or medical related services. Guests may come to Danielle House as the result of an accident or sudden illness of a loved one, or to be with a loved one who is undergoing surgery or medical treatment far from home. Outpatients who are able to care for themselves or who have a support person are also welcome, as well as family members of residents of long-term care facilities in our area.

Fenton Free Library is nestled in the heart of the community of Hillcrest. Since the 1930’s they have been delighting readers of all ages with books directly from their shelves, as well as through the Four County Library System. The Fenton Free Library also offers a place for our local area to congregate and learn. Their Children’s Room and Toddler Story Time provide a safe place for children to play and learn, and Fenton Free Library also offers educational programs for people of all ages, book clubs, book delivery, senior wellness, Making Yoga Accessible for Everyone, walking clubs, and a variety of activities that support the overall wellness of the community.
Fairview Recovery Services
Fairview Recovery Services, Inc. provides a therapeutic environment that assists individuals with substance use disorder with living independent, healthy, and productive lives by providing a continuum of individualized care and services through patient-centered treatment planning by our dedicated staff. Fairview is a private nonprofit and the only licensed provider of long-term residential substance use disorder treatment in Broome County. Fairview’s continuum of services emphasizes a holistic treatment model. They offer a wide range of substance use disorder treatment services including direct delivery of stabilization services, Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), vocational counseling, recreation therapy, mental health services, case management, and peer support, as well as a comprehensive continuum of housing programs to meet the needs of patients at various stages of recovery. Fairview has a vision to be widely recognized as a leader of innovative client-centered addiction services that will adapt to the emerging needs of the community.
Voices Recovery Center
Voices Recovery Center is a party of Fairview Recovery Services and it belongs to the community. It is open to everyone and there is no cost. Activities include Recovery support groups, holiday celebrations, yoga, music groups, Narcan training and more.
Family enrichment network
Family Enrichment Network’s mission is to provide supportive services for the optimal development of children and families. Family Enrichment Network supports this mission by offering programs and services that helps parents with learning and growth opportunities for their children and families. Some programs and services offered are Head Start/Early Head Start, Special Education Services, Child Care Resources, Housing Services, and Family Support Services.
Food bank of the southern tier
Food Bank of the Southern Tier works to build and sustain hunger-free communities throughout the Southern Tier. They provide services to help individuals to find local food pantries or meal programs, offer a Mobile Food Pantry to deliver food to those in need, and provide community education programs that increase awareness of hunger in the Southern Tier.

The mission of Greater Opportunities is to educate, advocate, and empower individuals and families to improve the quality of their lives through the development of self-reliance, while promoting a culture of people working together to help themselves, one another, and their community. Greater Opportunities helps their surrounding communities with comprehensive services that include: emergency assistance, advocacy, early education, and safe and affordable housing. Greater Opportunities’ team works with our clients to help create the opportunities and programs that work for them as individuals.

HCA offers programs and services that helps individuals with developmental and physical disabilities, while celebrating and empowering these individuals. HCA provides people with disabilities with the opportunity to participate in their community with activities and supports tailored to each individuals’ interests and strengths. They offer programs and services such as children’s preschool services, after-school care, residential services with 24-hour hands-on care, respite services, and specialized therapy services (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and behavioral health).

Helio Health is an inpatient detox program which helps those in recovery while going through withdrawal and stabilization services. The center offers multiple programs from substance abuse including intervention, cognitive behavioral therapy and contingency management. Located on Glenwood Ave in the city of Binghamton they continue to be an integral part of getting those struggling with addiction on the track to success.
Literacy Volunteers of broome and tioga counties
The mission of Literacy Volunteers of Broome/Tioga Counties is to assist adults in developing functioning literacy skills. This includes improving the student’s ability to read and write, perform basic math functions, and to use computers, as well as to speak and comprehend the English language. The service is provided at no cost to students. They utilize trained volunteers to provide these confidential educational services through a learner-centered approach that values and honors individual student needs and goals.

The Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier (MHAST) was founded in 1927 and is the oldest continuously operating Mental Health Association in New York State. MHAST is an affiliate of the Mental Health Association of New York State. MHAST is also a United Way agency. MHAST believes in the importance of mental health wellness and recovery and provides a variety of supportive programs to individuals and their families, including peer based services, and employees that have a shared or lived experience and can understand, engage, and relate to the challenges faced by individuals they support in their programs.

Mothers and Babies mission is to improve pregnancy and birth outcomes to support the health and development of all individuals and families. They provide education to our communities, connect individuals and families to health and other services, advocate for system improvements, and partner with other agencies, government and providers to strengthen families. Mothers and Babies focuses on every element of care, from the individual to the health care system to policymakers. Mothers and Babies philosophy is based on the concept that there are eight levels of intervention in community development to ensure successful prevention partnerships: Strengthening individual knowledge, Promoting community education, Educating providers, fostering coalitions and networks , Changing organizational practices, Influencing policy and legislation, Minimizing barriers, Ensuring that affordable and appropriate services are accessible to pregnant women, infants and all individuals and families, and Establishing public/private partnerships for coordinated community based care.

Rise is an organization dedicated to supporting individuals affected by domestic violence and is committed to helping individuals rebuild their lives and empower them to rise above their circumstances. Since its founding in 1979 as a shelter for victims, the organization has grown significantly over the past 40 years. Today, Rise offers a range of services both within and outside of the shelter, including a safe place to stay, information on legal and court-related options, transportation, clothing, cell phones, food, and other community resources. They also provide therapeutic services through licensed social workers.
sOUTHERN TIER INDEPENDENCE CENTER
The Southern Tier Independence Center offers assistance and programs to anyone who needs help living their life when they may be faced with a disability of any type. From community-based services, education, advocacy, independent housing, technology/equipment services to Medicaid/health insurance enrollment and behavioral and counseling services. All of the programs and services that STIC offers promote independence, inclusion and community integration.

Starlight’s mission is to help everyday Americans build toward financial health. They aim to do this by building technology that modernizes the social safety net, unlocking the $140B in government benefits that goes unclaimed every year for households in need. Starlight’s platform integrates directly with GHS FCU’s banking services, automatically identifying individuals eligible for public benefits and guide them through the application process while maintaining full privacy and consent.

UHS Hospital has one of the largest opioid treatment facilities in NY. Addiction medicine at UHS partners with other local hospitals, jails and other community organizations to train staff on how to deal with addiction and substance abuse. With direct access to medical personnel on staff they are able to prescribe medications to help those in need.

United Way fights for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in Broome County. United Way’s goal have a lasting positive impact in the community. To achieve this direct impact, the United Way provides their 100% promise, meaning 100% of any donation goes directly to make that positive change through community based projects and programs.
YMCA of broome county
The YMCA is charitable not-for-profit health and human services organization founded to help people by making available and accessible much needed services in the community. The YMCA also do not turn anyone away due to an inability to pay—each year, hundreds of people in Broome County benefit from financial assistance from the YMCA. More than 15,000 children and families benefit from the annual campaign, providing financial aid for people who wish to participate in YMCA programs such as youth sports and summer camp, or to purchase a membership.
