bampa’s House
Bampa’s House is a non-profit comfort care home that provides a home-like environment for people to receive hospice care serving the Steuben, Chemung, and Schuyler county areas. Bampa's House was established by the family and friends of Jim Dugan. It was first conceived after Jim's family struggled with finding an appropriate place for him to spend his final days. After he passed away, Jim's family decided that if there was any way to help others in this situation, even if it was just one or two families at a time, they would like to do so in Jim's honor.
Catholic Charities of Chemung County
The vision of Catholic Charities is a just and poverty-free community. Chemung County Agency on Aging & Long Term Care
The mission of the Chemung County Department of Aging and Long Term Care mission is to help Chemung County residents age together with independence, opportunity and dignity through coordinated and cost-effective policies and services that support and empower older adults, people of all ages in need of long term care, and their families and caregivers. Local Chemung County governments and representatives have committed to being an Age-Friendly Community, engaging us in an ongoing process to encourage active and healthy aging. Developing our age-friendliness provides an opportunity to enhance the wellbeing of all county residents, increase the ability of older adults to contribute to the community while reducing costly healthcare needs, and provides a marketing tool to attract and retain business and people of all ages.
Chemung County Habitat for Humanity
Chemung County Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a global, nonprofit housing organization. We build strength, stability and self-reliance in partnership with people and families in need of a decent and affordable home. Chemung County Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1989 by a group of local citizens who believed everyone deserves a decent place to live. They came together in response to two growing concerns: the rising number of hardworking families struggling to afford safe housing, and the high percentage of rental properties in Elmira that lacked long-term investment from owners. Since then, they've partnered with more than 40 families to help them achieve the dream of homeownership, providing strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Today, Chemung County Habitat is more than a homebuilder, they're a community partner dedicated to revitalizing neighborhoods, repairing and preserving homes, and expanding access to resources that help families thrive.
Chemung County Humane society and SPCA
Founded in 1891, the Chemung County SPCA is the oldest non-profit animal welfare organization in the region, and one of the oldest continuously-operating animal welfare organizations in the country. Their mission is to enhance the quality of life for companion animals in Chemung County and surrounding areas by promoting better futures for pets and their people.
Meals on Wheels of Chemung County
Meals on Wheels exists to serve nutritious meals and provide a daily contact to our clients. They will provide Quality Service by compassionately serving clients who have limited resources, trying to exceed the expectations of our clients whenever possible.Volunteers deliver a hot meal or a hot lunch/cold supper between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. five days each week. Participants who need guidance receive counseling and nutrition education. Special diets and weekend meal packages are available for those who require them.
Literacy Volunteers of broome and tioga counties
The mission of Literacy Volunteers of Broome/Tioga Counties is to assist adults in developing functioning literacy skills. This includes improving the student’s ability to read and write, perform basic math functions, and to use computers, as well as to speak and comprehend the English language. The service is provided at no cost to students. They utilize trained volunteers to provide these confidential educational services through a learner-centered approach that values and honors individual student needs and goals.

The Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier (MHAST) was founded in 1927 and is the oldest continuously operating Mental Health Association in New York State. MHAST is an affiliate of the Mental Health Association of New York State. MHAST is also a United Way agency. MHAST believes in the importance of mental health wellness and recovery and provides a variety of supportive programs to individuals and their families, including peer based services, and employees that have a shared or lived experience and can understand, engage, and relate to the challenges faced by individuals they support in their programs.
mothers and Babies perinatal network
Mothers and Babies mission is to improve pregnancy and birth outcomes to support the health and development of all individuals and families. They provide education to our communities, connect individuals and families to health and other services, advocate for system improvements, and partner with other agencies, government and providers to strengthen families. Mothers and Babies focuses on every element of care, from the individual to the health care system to policymakers. Mothers and Babies philosophy is based on the concept that there are eight levels of intervention in community development to ensure successful prevention partnerships: Strengthening individual knowledge, Promoting community education, Educating providers, fostering coalitions and networks , Changing organizational practices, Influencing policy and legislation, Minimizing barriers, Ensuring that affordable and appropriate services are accessible to pregnant women, infants and all individuals and families, and Establishing public/private partnerships for coordinated community based care.

For over 75 years, Racker has provided strength-based support for individuals with disabilities and their families in Tompkins, Cortland and Tioga counties. Guided by the vision of a world where all people know they belong, Racker offers programs and services to more than 3,500 people, helping them to build lasting connections and lead fulfilling lives.

Rise is an organization dedicated to supporting individuals affected by domestic violence and is committed to helping individuals rebuild their lives and empower them to rise above their circumstances. Since its founding in 1979 as a shelter for victims, the organization has grown significantly over the past 40 years. Today, Rise offers a range of services both within and outside of the shelter, including a safe place to stay, information on legal and court-related options, transportation, clothing, cell phones, food, and other community resources. They also provide therapeutic services through licensed social workers.
sOUTHERN TIER INDEPENDENCE CENTER
The Southern Tier Independence Center offers assistance and programs to anyone who needs help living their life when they may be faced with a disability of any type. From community-based services, education, advocacy, independent housing, technology/equipment services to Medicaid/health insurance enrollment and behavioral and counseling services. All of the programs and services that STIC offers promote independence, inclusion and community integration.

Starlight’s mission is to help everyday Americans build toward financial health. They aim to do this by building technology that modernizes the social safety net, unlocking the $140B in government benefits that goes unclaimed every year for households in need. Starlight’s platform integrates directly with GHS FCU’s banking services, automatically identifying individuals eligible for public benefits and guide them through the application process while maintaining full privacy and consent.
Tioga County boys and girls club
The Mission of the Tioga County Boys & Girls Club is to enable all young people, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The Boys and Girls Club’s core beliefs are to provide a physically and mentally safe place to learn and grow, ongoing relationships with caring adult professionals, life-enhancing programs and character development experiences, hope and opportunity. They have 15,000 square feet of space with two gyms, a fitness center, and an area designed specifically for kids under the age of 13. They have the capability to host a variety of sports and activities such as pickleball, basketball, dodge ball, volleyball, sports clinics & tournaments as well as an assortment of different social programs.
Tioga County Rural Ministry
Since 1978, the Tioga County Rural Ministry has been honored to serve Tioga County. They collaborate with numerous volunteers and community members who generously donate their time, skills, resources, and enthusiasm to support those in genuine need within the Tioga County community. The biggest unmet need which they address is food insecurity through the TCRM food pantry. Anyone who comes seeking food is welcome.

Tioga Opportunities, Inc. creates partnerships that strengthen communities while empowering individuals and families to achieve independence and enrich their quality of life. They provide a variety of services to Tioga County residents that serve their broad anti-poverty vision and implement an integrated, holistic service approach for individuals, families, and communities.

UHS Hospital has one of the largest opioid treatment facilities in NY. Addiction medicine at UHS partners with other local hospitals, jails and other community organizations to train staff on how to deal with addiction and substance abuse. With direct access to medical personnel on staff they are able to prescribe medications to help those in need.
