WHAT ARE SHARE CERTIFICATES?

Similar to a certificate of deposit, share certificates are issued by credit unions, rather than traditional commercial banks. Place an initial deposit amount (see rate chart below), choose the rate and term, and enjoy a fixed rate of return.

When you open a share certificate, you’ll already know the dividends you’ll receive upon its maturity date, provided you don’t make any early withdrawals (early withdrawal penalties apply). At GHS, share certificates automatically renew upon maturity.

Choose between short and long-term investment options, depending on your financial goals and current interest rates.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SHARE CERTIFICATES AND MONEY MARKET ACCOUNTS?

Share certificates are different from a Money Market Account, which allows for limited check writing and transfers.
