Is there a cost to schedule?
No, GHS’ Smart Money is totally free!
Do I have to be a member to schedule?
In order to take advantage of all the program benefits, we’re currently reserving scheduling for GHS Business Members. It’s easy to join through our Business Banking professionals. Learn more here.
My team is smaller, will you still come to our facility?
Absolutely. We can cater scheduled program meetings to suite many needs. Our goal is to individualize our program to fit the needs of your employees, no matter the size of your team. Virtual options are always available for teams that are geographically spread out!
What does participation include for our employees?
Employees receive access to practical financial education sessions covering topics like budgeting, credit, debt management, and major financial decision, along with optional follow-up support and access to GHS financial tools and services.
Are there any benefits for our organzation?
Yes. In additional to supporting employee financial wellness, participating organizations are eligible for a 0.25% APY increase on select GHS share certificates (CDs), along with access to a trusted, local financial partner for ongoing support.
What benefits do employees receive through Smart Money?
Employees who particiapte in Smart Money gain access to practical financial education, personalized guidance, and exclusive financial benefits. These include a 0.25% APY increase on select GHS Share Certificates (CDs) and 0.25% APR rebate on qualifying fixed-rate personal and vehicle loans. These benefits are designed to reward engagement while helping employees save more and borrow smarter.
How does the Smart Money program work?
Smart Money is a flexible workplace financial wellness program delivered by GHS Federal Credit Union employees. Once your organization enrolls, we coordinate session topics, format, and scheduling to fit your team. Employees can attend educational workshops, access follow-up support, and take advantage of available financial tools and benefits. The program is designed to be easy to implement, minimally disruptive and impactful from the start.
*APY = Annual Percentage Yield. Rates are subject to change at any time. For further information about rates, applicable fees and terms, please contact GHS at (800) 732-4447. Early withdrawal penalties may be imposed on Term Share Accounts. Credit Union Membership required with a $1.00 minimum deposit and $1.00 membership fee.
GHS Federal Credit Union may issue certificate of deposits with the following guidelines:
Length of term: 3 months through 60 months
Minimum amounts: $500.00.
Special featured products may require a higher minimum
All certificates will receive monthly interest. A member may choose to have the interest handled in one of the following ways:
Compounded monthly
Paid by check
Transferred to a different GHS FCU account
IRA certificate interest must be compounded or posted to an GHS FCU IRA account.
Interest penalties on early redemption of certificates will be 90 days of interest if the certificate has been opened for less than twelve months, or 180 days of interest if twelve or more months. The fee will be imposed whether or not the interest has been earned. There are certain circumstances, such as death or incompetence of the main certificate owner, where we may waive or reduce this penalty. If the account is part of an IRA or tax qualified plan, see your plan disclosure for additional information.
In order to earn a stated Annual Percentage Yield, or APY, the certificate must compound and interest must accrue in the certificate account.
Certificates will be retained by GHS Federal Credit Union.
