AIM Independent Living Center

AIM Independent Living Center provides advocacy and a wide array of home- and community-based services for people with all types of disabilities. They also assist veterans, nursing home residents, people who are experiencing homelessness, those in recovery, and others with unmet needs.

Arbor Housing and Development

Arbor Housing and Development is a progressive, non-profit, 501(c)3 corporation, committed to building independence and creating housing options to underserved populations primarily in the Southern Tier of New York and North Central Pennsylvania. Created more than 55 years ago as Steuben Church-people Against Poverty, the organization has grown from 8 part-time volunteers dedicated to self-help housing to over 100 full-time employees. They offer residential behavioral health and domestic violence services that help people overcome challenges and go on to live safely on their own. Arbor Housing and Development's assistance for renters and home-buyers creates a pathway to the security and stability all people deserve. By developing, rehabilitating, and managing quality residential sites, they empower people to live within their means in communities of their choice.

Bath VA Medical Center

The Batch VA Medical Center provides primary care and specialty health services, including eye and vision care, dental care, mental health care, nutrition services, treatment for spinal cord injuries, and more.

Bridge to Hope Center

The Bridge to Hope Community Center is a safe, supportive space where individuals facing homelessness, recovery, and life challenges can find resources, community, and hope for the journey ahead. They offer case management support, basic needs assistance, Life skills workshops, community and connection opportunities, and referral and coordination services with local partners.

Capabilities Inc.

Capabilities Inc is an employment services organization providing personalized employment programs for individuals with disabilities & offering business solutions to those in Chemung, Steuben, Schuyler & Tioga.

Career Development Council

Career Development Council, Inc. (CDC) is an educational not-for-profit affiliated with the Greater Southern Tier BOCES. CDC partners with business, industry, and area school districts to provide high quality K-12 career education services to over 28,000 students and educators each year. Career development services include career days, job shadowing, career panels, career-related field trips and site visits, career speakers, mock interviews, Working Worlds for Educators, and grant funded/special career-focused programs such as Architectural Awareness and the Youth Leadership Institute.

Care First NY

Care First NY is a hospice services program designed to provide compassionate care and support for patients and families during difficult times. They offer compassionate end-of-life care and support to individuals who are no longer seeking curative treatment, specialized grief support through counseling, education, events, and programs for those coping with anticipatory grief or loss in the community, and services for children, adults, and families struggling with loss, anticipatory grief, advanced illness management, acceptance of a terminal diagnosis, and caregiver fatigue.

CASA of the Southern Tier

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children) has a mission to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in Family Court by recruiting and training community volunteers.

Catholic Charities of Steuben and Livingston

Catholic Charities Steuben/Livingston builds communities that care for all people. They serve all people seeking help in a safe, welcoming and comforting environment that feels like being home. Their services empower people to enrich their quality of life from the foundations of: access to resources and opportunities; healthy family functioning; healthy child development, and freedom from substance dependency.

Child Care Aware of Steuben and Schuyler

Child Care Aware of Steuben and Schuyler is dedicated to helping all parents obtain affordable care which will benefit their child and meet complex family needs. They build the supply of various child care options throughout Steuben and Schuyler counties and improve the quality of care through community education and caregiver training, technical assistance and tangible supports. Child Care Aware of Steuben and Schuyler is a department of Pro Action, Inc., established in 1985. Services include consumer education on quality child care, fee assistance, and free referrals to programs. They also provide a variety of education opportunities and services that assist in enhancing child care program quality.

Community Progress Inc.

Community Progress, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting municipalities and low- to moderate-income people with housing needs throughout Chemung, Steuben, and Schuyler Counties. They work in partnership with national, regional and local organizations to offer unique opportunities through operation of housing rehabilitation programs to single, multiple and mixed -use dwellings; and operation of business rehabilitation/development programs.

Corning Senior Center

The Senior Center promotes physical, emotional and economic well-being for older adults. The Senior Center is operated and funded by the City of Corning. If you are at least 55 years old you can stop by and join the fun. There is no membership fee. Activities are provided through groups that meet for a common interest, such as, but not limited to: card games, board games, gardening, dinner club, 55+ club, travel club, etc. Each activity may have its own set of regulations. A fee may be charged for materials, refreshments and prizes. Classes are instructional and meet on a regularly scheduled basis. They may be taught by a volunteer, staff member or paid person. Some classes may have a fee charged and some classes are free. Some examples of classes offered: tai chi, line dancing, ballroom dancing, fitness, aerobics, 55 Alive driver safety, ceramics, wood marquetry and more. 

Corning Area Chamber of Commerce

The Corning Area Chamber of Commerce serves and advances regional business interests in support of a vibrant community. They provide Members with individualized opportunities to grow through network development, marketing, education, and advocacy.

Corning Children’s Center

Established in 1980 to serve families throughout the greater Corning area, Corning Children’s Center aims to set the standard in early care and education by inspiring learners, leaders, and dreamers. They provide high quality care and education for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers (ages 6 weeks to 5 years). The Center has a strong sense of community, and children will learn and grow within an environment that is positive, diverse, creative, stimulating, and caring - one that recognizes and appreciates the uniqueness of each child.

Corning Comfort Care Inc. - Bampa’s House

Corning Comfort Care Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) comfort care home centrally located in the tri-county area. Bampa’s House is a two bedroom comfort care home where the terminally ill can spend the final days of their lives receiving compassionate care in a peaceful, home-like environment. They provide a nurturing and supportive place for residents to spend their last days with dignity and respect. They understand that this time can be difficult, and their goal is to make it as comfortable as possible for residents and their loved ones.

The Corning Community Food Pantry

The Corning Community Food Pantry exists to provide supplemental food assistance and nutrition education to people in need. They also regularly promote other food sources such as SNAP (the food stamp program) and local mobile food pantries.

Corning Family YMCA

The Corning Family YMCA is dedicated to promoting healthy living and community engagement. Equipped with group exercise studios, a wellness center with adaptive equipment, modern gymnasium, indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, child watch services, outdoor sports courts and so much more! With a focus on community, the Corning Family YMCA serves as a vibrant center for individuals and families to connect and thrive.

Cornell Co-op Extension of Steuben

Cooperative Extension puts useful, research-based information in the hands of residents of Steuben County. In addition to what you'll find on the website, they offer free or low-cost workshops on many topics that may be useful to people and families. CCE staff works with local residents to identify community issues and needs and to create appropriate strategies and programs to address those needs.

Faith in Action Steuben County

Faith in Action Steuben County is a coalition of congregations, civic groups, and individuals working together to serve older adults in need a little assistance to continue living independently. This support is provided at no charge to the recipient by caring volunteers, selflessly giving their time and compassion to others.

Finger Lakes SPCA

The Finger Lakes SPCA was founded in 1949 as the Bath Animal Shelter. They are a nonprofit organization supported by private donations and the local community. They serve Steuben County in West/Central New York State and the surrounding communities. Finger Lakes SPCA provides compassionate care, adoption services, and community education to give every animal a second chance.

Glove House

Glove House serves youth and families from 15 New York State counties. They encourage change by reigniting hope, guiding children and empowering families to live successfully through locally provided services: crisis stabilization, prevention, counseling, advocacy, and the creation of positive learning environments.

Institute for Human Services

The Institute for Human Services is a nonprofit management support organization founded in 1984. The Institute provides management support, information and referral, organizational development, and research services to planners, funders, and providers serving the Southern Tier of New York State.

Personalized Recovery Oriented Services

Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) is a comprehensive recovery oriented program for adult individuals with ongoing mental illness. The goal of the program is to integrate treatment, support and rehabilitation in a manner that facilitates the individual's recovery.

Pregnancy Resource Center of the Valleys

PRC of the Valleys is committed to helping you before, during, and after pregnancy. Whether you need a pregnancy test, a referral for an on-site ultrasound for confirmation of pregnancy, or want to talk to a trained team member about your next step options, they can help. PRC of the Valleys offer pregnancy tests, ultrasound referrals, options consulting free of charge.

Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc.

As a Community Action Agency, Pro Action is responsible for helping people and changing lives. They are effective stewards of federal, state, and local resources, using them efficiently to improve the resiliency and future prospects of the people they serve. They take these responsibilities seriously, and are proud of the contribution our work makes to the health of the local economy. Pro Action’s comprehensive, integrated family of services support people as they strive to advance themselves. Ready Set Grow Child care center

Ready, Set, Grow Child Care Center's has been providing high quality child care at its First Street location on Corning's Southside since 1971! Through the years, the center has evolved to become a prime choice for local families who seek the very best in early childhood programming. Ready, Set, Grow Child Care Center is more than a place; it's a community of teachers, parents and children from all walks of life who build relationships and memories as they celebrate each child's journey together.

Southeast Steuben County Library

The Southeast Steuben County Library offers free access to books, technology, and a wide range of learning programs for all ages. With unique features like a fully equipped Maker Space and a Seed Library for local gardeners, the library serves as a hub for creativity, education, and community connection.

Steuben County Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services

Steuben County Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (SCASAS) is an ambulatory, medically supervised outpatient substance abuse program certified by New York State (NYS) Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) with offices in Bath, Corning, and Hornell.

Steuben County Community Foundation

Community foundations are public, nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of the people who live in their area. These foundations evolve over time, because what a community needs today may differ from what it will need in 30 years. They exist to listen to and meet their local needs, creating long-term impact, so their communities are the best they can be, for every tomorrow to come. Steuben County Community Foundation, Steuben county’s only community foundation, has proudly served the area since 1991.

Steuben County Community Mental Health Center

The Steuben County Community Mental Health Center (SCCMHC) provides a full range of outpatient mental health services to the residents of Steuben County. The Mental Health Center is certified by the New York State Office of Mental Health and operates under the auspices of the Steuben County Community Services Board and the Steuben County Legislature. The Center is administered by the Director of Community Services. The Center operates three offices located in Bath, Corning and Hornell.

Steuben County Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity of Corning, works alongside neighbors to build, repair, and revitalize homes and communities. Through volunteer power, ReStore sales, and generous donations, they make lasting change. One family, one project, and one home at a time.

Steuben County Healthy Families

Healthy Families staff strive to talk with all expectant parents and parents of newborns in the communities they serve. Their goal is to identify strengths and challenges prenatally or at birth and provide appropriate information and referrals to help babies get off to a healthy start. Healthy Families services are always free and voluntary and your information and privacy is always protected and respected.

The Arc Allegany-Steuben

The Arc Allegany-Steuben offers a variety of supports and services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families throughout Allegany and Steuben counties.

The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes

The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes is the regional organization that empowers artists and encourages arts advocacy, fosters creativity and economic vitality, creates diverse connections and collaborations, and champions innovation and equity within the arts to cultivate a dynamic community.

The Potter’s Hands Foundation Inc.

It is the desire of The Potter’s Hands Foundation Inc. to help females who have been trapped by the oppression of abuse to find wholeness, healing, and a sense of self-worth, while providing a safe place for them to grow, heal, and be free from the cruelty they have endured. In order to accomplish this goal, they have designed a safe place for women where they can begin a new season in life.
