Behavioral Services at Cayuga Medical Center

Half of all Americans will experience a mental illness during their lifetimes. Mental or emotional problems affect every aspect of life. If you become overwhelmed, or cannot function day to day, or become dangerous to yourself or those around you, it may be helpful to seek inpatient care. Cayuga Medical Center has two Behavioral Services units, one for adults over the age of 18 years, and one for adolescents between 13 and 17. They provide individualized care in a warm, supportive environment. They’re there to help you understand the problems you have been experiencing and to work with you to make your life more manageable.

Founded in 1964, the Brooktondale Community Center is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization serving the Town of Caroline, NY. The Brooktondale Community Center is located in the heart of Brooktondale, 12 minutes southeast of Ithaca. Van Dyke Addiction Treatment Center

Dick Van Dyke is a 30-bed treatment facility. Treatment services include group and individual therapy, didactic lectures and presentations which are used as a "teaching mechanism" so patients can learn more of the recovery skills needed to continue with abstinence and recovery. Services provided address the basic health care needs of each patient while addressing the specific physical, psychological and social symptoms associated with psychoactive substance abuse.

Each year FLIC serves approximately 2000 people in the community. The Finger Lakes Library System (FLLS) is a cooperative library system, chartered in 1958 by New York State, to serve the public libraries in Cayuga, Cortland, Seneca, Tioga, and Tompkins Counties. Friendship Donations Network

Friendship Donations Network rescues fresh, nutritious food that would otherwise be thrown away from stores and farms and redistributes it to neighbors in need. They provide food donations to hunger relief programs that serve more than 2,000 people a week, and divert over 1,000 lbs. of good food from local landfill every day.

Food Bank of the Southern Tier

The Food Bank of the Southern Tier’s service area includes Broome, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga, and Tompkins Counties, covering nearly 4,000 square miles. Their partnership with member agencies across the service area is crucial to their mission as they ensure the food they acquire and distribute gets to the people who need it most. In 2020, the Food Bank distributed more than 17.6 million pounds of food and grocery items to communities in need.

Greater Ithaca Activities Center (GIAC)

The Greater Ithaca Activities Center (GIAC) is a center for all ages, particularly youth and teens. It serves the immediate neighborhood and the greater Ithaca area by providing multicultural, educational, and recreational programs focused on social and individual development. The center's programs include services dedicated to improving the quality of life for the people we serve; advocating for the rights and needs of youth, families, underrepresented, and disenfranchised populations; providing structured employment training opportunities for at-risk youth and adults; and fighting against oppression and intimidation in our community.

Groton Public Library

The Groton Public Library was chartered in 1896 to serve the people of the Groton school district. In the Fall of 2021, The Library had a second addition built as well as the first addition being renovated. The addition houses new office space, a new teen room, and a large open room for events with adjoining kitchen and storage. Renovation of the first addition converted a small room into our new community pantry with a fridge, freezer, and pantry; and expanded the bathrooms and kids room.

Immaculate Conception food pantry

For 20 years, Immaculate Conception Parish has been helping the community through the Food Pantry. They are the only Food Pantry in Tompkins County that serves ALL people EVERY week, serving between 120-150 families per week. Immaculate Conception sets up in the Parish Hall on Mondays, they receive 1-2 pallets of food from the Southern Tier Food Bank. Volunteers pick up groceries on Tuesday morning and food is distributed Tuesdays from 1:00-2:00pm.

The Ithaca Kitchen Cupboard is a food pantry located in The Salvation Army at 150 N. Albany St., Ithaca, NY. Anyone is welcome to visit and pick up food via the back door (in the parking lot).
